Elena is an artist based in Chattanooga, TN.
Elena grew up and received her first classical art education in Ukraine. She used this education to transition into the field of architecture, where she continued her training in drawing and painting. She completed a Bachelor’s degree in architecture and a Master’s degree in city planning and began a career as an architect.
After working for more than a decade as an architect, Elena returned her full attention to art in 2011. She began teaching children in a private art school in Dnipro. This small step eventually led her to leave architectural consulting in Ukraine to focus again on painting.
In 2013, Elena moved to the United States and began working full time as an artist.
She continued her education as an artist by attending workshops with internationally acclaimed artists in a private local atelier.
Elena Burykina is an awarded Signature status member of The Portrait Society of America and awarded member of Oil Painters of America.
“My favorite subjects to paint are people with their personalities, moods, thoughts, and favorite things. I seek a connection with the model that I can translate to the surface.”
